Library Services are seeking to appoint a part-time Library Assistant who will be based at the Newport campus. The job is for 18.5 hours a week. The hours of work will be:
Monday 7.5 hours
Wednesday 3.5 hours
Friday 7.5 hours
Library Services provides a wide range of high-quality library and information services to University of South Wales students, academics, and researchers https://library.southwales.ac.uk/
The Library Assistant role provides support, information, and informed referral to library users through face-to-face contact in the library, through email and our online chat service.
You will order and receive library resources and create reading lists for the use of students, researchers, and academic staff.
You will play a proactive role in the maintenance, development, and promotion of our print and online collections.
You will support our request services for students, researchers, and staff, ensuring that they can access learning resources in a timely and effective way, when they need it.
You will be working in a hybrid model, predominantly on campus with some home working where service needs allow, to ensure a vibrant and welcoming service for Library users.
As part of a frontline team, which delivers excellent customer service, a desire to work with library users, a commitment to training and development, demonstrating high standards of customer service aligned to the USW values is essential.
