The opportunity

Working in our friendly team, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality customer-focused library and open access IT services, and administrative duties.

You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries in person and online using our live chat service ASK. This includes helping with the use of Library materials and catalogue, electronic information resources, dealing with account queries, as well as supporting students with general purpose software and participate in roaming support.

You will provide support for self-issue systems, printing and IT and assist with the production of promotional and instructional guides to encourage students’ independent learning.  

You will also keep the space in good order, for example through regular tidying and shelving, in accordance with best health and safety practice and security guidelines. 

There are THREE available roles:

Role 1: The role based at Wimbledon College of Arts, is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, 1.0FTE. Normal working hours will be 9.00am to 5.00pm but there can be a requirement to work any time during our 8.30am to 8.30pm core hours. 

Role 2: The role based at Camberwell College of Arts is 17.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday, 0.5FTE. Normal working hours will be 9.00am to 6.15pm but there can be a requirement to work any time during our 8.30am to 8.30pm core hours. 

Role 3: The role based at Chelsea College of Arts is 28 hours per week over 4 days between Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, 0.8FTE. Normal working hours will be 9.00am to 5.00pm but there can be a requirement to work any time during our 8.30am to 8:30pm core hours. 

The weekly working pattern will be agreed upon acceptance of an offer of employment. 


About you

You will have relevant experience in a library or customer service environment, and formal training or education to post-16 level. You will have experience of working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed. You will also be able to work independently and have excellent written and oral communication skills and be IT literate.
