Library and Student IT Advisor (Part-time, Fixed-Term)

Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Leeds, ENGLAND
Job Type: PartTime
Deadline: 06 Feb 2024

If you’re naturally helpful, and have great IT and customer service skills, Library Services are now recruiting for a Library and Student IT Adviser to join our busy frontline team in helping students get the best results they can.  In this rewarding role you’ll be advising students on how to connect to university systems and accounts, use the university’s wifi and how to find the best library resources for their studies.  You don’t need to have worked in a University before, but you will need experience of advising customers in a busy service environment using your knowledge, ingenuity and IT skills.

The post is a temporary, part time role, working 10:00 – 14:00 Monday to Friday until January 2025.  You will spend your time in our busy libraries on campus helping students via webchat, phone and email as well as in person.

Library Services is a large department with a friendly feel.  You’ll be working with 120 people who provide student IT support, develop students’ skills, and who help run the online Learning Environment, as well as all the other services that you’d expect from a Library.  In your work, you’ll have opportunities to learn more about how the different teams make a difference to students during their time at Leeds Beckett University.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post.  All appointments will be based on merit.

If you think you fit the bill, please apply by sending us your application with a CV plus a covering statement stating in no more than two sides how you meet the criteria in the employee specification.

Should you wish to discuss this role, please email our Advice Services Manager, Russ Jones [email protected]

Closing date: 6th February 2024 (23:59). Please note that you will not be able to edit or submit a part-completed application form after the closing date.

Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
