The School of Psychological Science is seeking to appoint a 1-year fixed-term Pathway 3 (teaching-focused) academic.  The successful candidates will join a growing team of teaching-focused academics with a particular focus on our suite of Postgraduate Clinical/Applied Neuropsychology programmes.

The successful candidate will join in Spring 2024 and contribute to the planning, delivery, and support of teaching and students on our postgraduate programmes in neuropsychology, including our accredited clinical neuropsychology programmes. The main purpose will be to provide the highest quality support for students and staff through tutorial support, administrative support, marking, and taking on special administrative projects to enhance our curriculum and student experience. We are looking for highly motivated individuals looking to join a team of staff undertaking curriculum and structural changes. We are particularly keen to invite candidates with a background in neuropsychology, including clinicians. We are also keen to invite individuals with experience in supporting international students and student wellbeing, with an emphasis on students with disabilities.

Working in a collegiate and supportive environment, the successful candidate will contribute to the support, delivery, and development of our neuropsychology programmes. The main purpose will be to support our transition through structural changes and support the existing team with (for example) tutorials, teaching, marking, and course design. In addition, you will be expected to take the lead on education-related administrative duties.

You must have experience teaching and supporting students in psychology in an academic setting. You have the ability and enthusiasm to engage effectively with professional and academic staff and work independently to organise your own schedule. You can demonstrate knowledge of culturally inclusive teaching practice and a deep understanding of the requirements of accredited neuropsychology programmes.

For informal enquiries please contact Dr Chris Kent (School Education Director and Deputy Head of School), [email protected] or Professor Kit Pledell-Pearce (Programme Director), [email protected].

We recently launched our strategy  to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.

The University of Bristol aims to be a place where everyone feels able to be themselves and do their best in an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives – particularly people of colour, LGBT+ and disabled people - because diversity of people and ideas remains integral to our excellence as a global civic institution.
