The School of Psychological Science is seeking to appoint two Pathway 3 (teaching focused) academics.  The successful candidates will join a growing team of academics to deliver and enhance our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with a particular focus on our new MSc. One post is planned to start as soon as possible and the other in August 2024.

The successful candidates will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching support and delivery. The main purpose will be to provide the highest quality support for students through teaching, personal tutorials, project supervision, marking and taking on special administrative projects to enhance our curriculum and student experience. We are looking for highly motivated individuals looking to lead on newly developed units at MSc level, leading a team of staff to deliver core BPS content across a range of topics. We are particularly keen to invite candidates with a background in individual differences or neurodevelopmental research and teaching. We are also keen to invite individuals with experience in supporting international students and/or student wellbeing, with an emphasis on students with disabilities.

Working in a collegiate and supportive environment, the successful candidates will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching support and delivery. The main purpose will be to support our students through personal tutorials, project supervision, delivery of teaching and marking. In addition, you will be expected to take the lead on education related administrative duties, such as being a senior tutor, leading on international student support, or coordinating disability support.

It is essential that you have experience of teaching and supporting students in psychology in an academic setting. You have the ability and enthusiasm to engage effectively with professional and academic staff and work independently to organise your own schedule. You can demonstrate knowledge of culturally-inclusive teaching practice and deep understanding of the QAA benchmark and BPS curriculum particularly at year 2. Experience delivering core teaching relevant to the BPS content standards (especially at level 5) is essential.
