The Department of Health Professions offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Sport and Exercise Medicine, Post Graduate Medicine, Nutritional Sciences. About the candidate: 

The successful applicant is expected to contribute to both the curriculum and the enhancement of student experience whilst actively participating in departmental activities. They will be required to teach speech and language therapy related subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to support inter-professional learning across the Faculty. They will be required to work closely with a range of academics, researchers and clinicians and other professionals across the wider health and social care sector.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal and teamworking skills. A willingness to contribute across the whole speech and language therapy curricula is essential. They should have relevant teaching experience at levels 4-7 and /or significant clinical experience in speech and language therapy, including supporting students on placement. Their experience should include working with a paediatric or adult caseload.

They will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. They will have a good first degree, a minimum of a Masters level qualification (Lecturer post) and ideally doctoral qualification or equivalent, along with a relevant research profile (Senior Lecturer post). They should have relevant teaching and significant clinical experience. Their experience should include evidence of research, quality improvement, service evaluation or clinical audit.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University's achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff.  This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
