Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Structural Dynamic/Solid Mechanics - Grade 8/9

Updated: about 2 months ago
Location: Liverpool, ENGLAND

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering seeks to appoint a member of Teaching and Research (T&R) staff in Structural Dynamics / Solid Mechanics.

You must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary internationally leading vibrant group, which combines the latest developments in validation of solid mechanics/structural dynamics models via enhanced experimental measurements with general control (with particular emphasis on vibrational control) and strain measurements in collaboration with other lead academics and industrial partners.

You will undertake research of an international standing and have a track record relevant to the level of appointment and contribute to teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate levels) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

For appointment at Senior Lecturer an evidence of leadership both within an academic environment and external research area is required.

The appointment will be based on the proven research track record or potential of the candidate, depending on level of appointment. To strengthen the existing portfolio of activities, we are particularly interested in candidates who have an expertise in vibration control in machines and structures and developing smart testing regimes for the validation of and development of simple and hierarchical models.

Your research area should either strengthen our existing research or complement our expertise, interdisciplinary research and collaboration outside the University, leading to economic and social impact outside academia.

You will have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related subject.

The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
