Job description

The Bath School of Art, Film and Media is seeking an ambitious, talented Lecturer with excellent organisational skills and a commitment to innovative practice-informed teaching and learning in Sports Media Production. 

Key responsibilities

You will join a small team of academics teaching our new flagship course BA (Honours) Sports Media Production and associated film and television practice-based programmes. We are looking for someone who is exceptionally motivated with experience in teaching and learning along with a knowledge and experience of working in the sports media industry. The successful candidate will design and deliver undergraduate teaching, provide an excellent student-focused learning experience and will also contribute to enterprise, collaborations, management and administration. A willingness to work evenings/ weekends where necessary to cover sporting fixtures is a requirement. 

Key skills

We would like to hear from you if you meet the following criteria for this role: 

  • A track record of practical experience and up-to-date knowledge of current trends and issues in sports media production.
  • Practical and theoretical understanding of a range of sports media production practices and technologies including shooting and editing sport, production of OBs on location and associated fieldwork, sports reporting and journalism.
  • An ability to motivate and inspire students in classroom and off-campus teaching and work closely and co-operatively in a small team
  • An ability to conduct curriculum development work (including planning, development, evaluation, assessment and feedback mechanisms) with an understanding of the changing landscape of sports media production.
  • The ability to develop and establish strong industry connections for the course and students.
