The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to appoint a full time, open-ended lecturer/senior lecturer in Sign Language Linguistics.

The successful candidate will contribute original research, high quality teaching, public impact and leadership in Sign Language Linguistics. The specific area of specialism within Sign Language Linguistics is open. Research skills in areas that bring new dimensions of expertise to existing strengths in our department are very welcome.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Extensive experience of original research in the area, supported by a relevant qualification (normally a PhD or equivalent; pending assumed complete maybe considered).
  • A strong record of publication in high quality venues, relative to career stage.
  • Evidence of recent, sustained and developing research that meets standards of international excellence.
  • Teaching Experience
  • Research and publication that meets standards of world-leading excellence.

Interviews will be held late November 2022 and attendees will be required to take part in several meetings and activities (online) over a two day period.

Please upload a CV and a covering letter (~ 2 A4 sides long) including a description of your area of research, how your research contributes to knowledge, and your teaching experiences.

Include the names and contact details of 3 potential referees. We will seek letters of reference for those shortlisted unless specifically stated otherwise.
