As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for a Lecturer/SeniorLecturer to join our academic team working across our Manchester, Chester and Liverpool campuses.

Ideally a qualified Solicitor or Barrister or experienced Law Lecturer/Academic who currently teaches across the range of programmes we offer. 

Lecturer: starting salary between £40,000-£42,000 depending upon skills, experience and PQE (plus Location weighting of £1,550)

Senior Lecturer: starting salary between £48,000 -£53,000subject to Fellowship of the HEA and relevant teaching qualification or equivalent. (plus Location weighting of £1,550).

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at The University of Law, you will:

  • Teach and assess across the University of Law course portfolio in such subjects assigned to you. This will include teaching and assessing students across a range of written and oral skills and giving individual feedback on students’ performances.
  • Assist in the preparation of assignments and assessments.
  • Participate in course design and review.
  • Act as an academic coach to students, including being available and willing to discuss students’ problems as they arise, their performance and academic progression
  • Assist in marketing, widening participation and extra-curricular events.
  • Supervise student dissertations and research projects.

We are looking for individuals who are/have:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with a passion for quality and excellence or a relevant outstanding academic/pedagogical background.
  • Demonstrate successful legal practice or teaching experience
  • Enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure)
  • Adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery
  • Eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience

*Please note that if you do not currently have/are not undertaking a PgCHE or an equivalent qualification, it is a requirement that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), within 18 months of passing probation for our Lecturer roles.
