Permanent, full time
Huddersfield Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law in order to strengthen existing teaching and research in this area. Sitting within Huddersfield Business School, the Law School already has much to be proud of and is now undergoing a period of sustained development with a new building incorporating a Moot Court and investment in research. The University was one of only two in Yorkshire to achieve a gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
With a distinguished history of teaching law and excellent professional links at a regional and national level, we have reached a pivotal point and are expanding our team and investing in the future. You will join a vibrant team dedicated to providing an excellent student experience and achieving excellence in research. A supportive research culture will encourage and support you in achieving your research ambitions, producing high quality outputs, making grant applications and creating impact. You will contribute to teaching law at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that delivers an international, excellent student experience informed by research.
You should be qualified to Doctoral level (or be very close to completion) in a Law subject or an equivalent subject area; a professional qualification in law would be desirable. You should be able to provide evidence of strong research potential and have a coherent research strategy for achieving strong publications and establishing an international reputation.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates who are able to offer teaching expertise in Criminal Law, Criminal Litigation and/or Maritime Law. In addition, teaching expertise in Contract Law would be a desirable area of competence.
Informal enquiries can be made to Dr Amanda Warren Jones on +44 (0)1484 472876 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are currently registered as an undergraduate student (full or part-time) at the University, please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
