Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Intelligent Systems

The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast is currently seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to help grow and develop our research in Intelligent Systems. We are particularly interested in applicants who can undertake advanced research in areas such as intelligent mechatronic systems, cognitive robotics, embedded systems, Industrial IoT, and data-driven modelling and simulation (digital twins) for system optimisation, and contribute to our ambitious research agenda and University-wide efforts to establish Queen’s as an international leader in intelligent systems research and the application of this research to address global challenges.

The post holder is expected to undertake world class innovation and mission-led research programmes, complementing their research and contribute to excellent student experience via research led teaching and assessment. They will also contribute to administration, outreach, and impact activities, specifically capitalising on the major opportunities afforded by the UK Industrial Strategy, UKRI, European and Global initiatives, and ongoing investment in the area via the Belfast Regional City Deal (BRCD).

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • A PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrate postdoctoral research experience in a relevant area, including but not limited, to intelligent mechatronic systems, cognitive robotics, embedded systems, Industrial IoT, and data driven modelling and simulation (digital twins) for system optimisation.
  • A record of high-quality research publication in top-tier journals and conferences commensurate with stage of career.
  • Evidence of independent contribution in research projects and potential to establish an independent sustainable research programme.
