About the role  

As part of ongoing recruitment to the Games Art, Design & Technology Department at Staffordshire University London we are looking to appoint a lecturer/senior lecturer in Environment Art, who will deliver across both our Games Design & Concept Art Courses.

In addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning you will have the opportunity to contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise strategy. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with an interest in the development of Serious Games, and non-entertainment applications of Games Technologies.   We are looking for experienced candidates who have demonstrable ability to deliver a complete environment art pipeline, including research and reference, concept, 3d modelling & sculpting, texturing, lighting, rendering and presentation of assets within both Game Engines and Digital/Online Portfolios. An understanding of Dynamic Materials, Post-process and Game Engine VFX would be beneficial.

The department is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and in addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning the post holder will have the opportunity to contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise strategy.  Areas of interest include: serious games, non-entertainment applications of games technologies,  XR (AR, VR, MR). 

As a member of academic staff, the post holder will have the opportunity to work on a rapidly expanding campus, with access to a range of sector-leading technologies, including high spec games development workstations and labs, Wacom tablets, Cintiqs’ and virtual reality equipment. Our games academics based in London also have access to all the resources on our Stoke campus, which include motion capture equipment and virtual production studios. Our Stoke campus also hosts the Epic Games Centre for the UK.
