An exciting opportunity has arisen for a biomedical scientist to contribute to the teaching and research portfolio within our school.

We would encourage applications from those with a passion for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students biomedical science, ideally with expertise in clinical blood sciences and/or immunology with experience as a biomedical or clinical scientist. In addition, we would expect you to have a well-developed area of research. 

You will be joining a vibrant, multi-disciplinary team, committed to providing high-quality education to our students.  This includes inspiring the next generation of biomedical graduates by adopting innovative approaches to teaching, informed by our research, in order to allow our students to become inquisitive thinkers capable of effective decision-making. In order to be successful in this post you should have:

  • A good (1 or 2:1) degree and PhD in biomedical science or a closely related subject, particularly in the areas of clinical blood sciences and immunology 
  • A track record of excellent research in biomedical sciences and a clear vision of how to establish a viable research programme with us
  • Experience of teaching and assessment in biosciences, with good IT skills and effective use of IT for teaching and learning

The post is a part-time position with 0.8 FTE and is fixed term until 30th November 2022. We would consider job share or part-time applications to support portfolio working.
