The College wishes to recruit Lecturers (Education and Scholarship) to contribute to the development, delivery and leadership of a team of clinical educators in support of the delivery of IAPT Low Intensity teaching within one of the leading providers of research-led and research-informed training in low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT). The posts will contribute to the delivery of the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner training curricula, to provide selected aspects of the student learning experience at module level.
The above full-time posts are available from immediately in the Clinical Education, Development and Research (CEDAR) team on fixed term contracts until 31.07.24. There is every expectation that the contracts will be extended beyond that time frame subject to ongoing funding.
As there are multiple vacancies, full or part time hours may be considered, so please could candidates indicate within their applications their preferred FTE in the role.
The role
The posts will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches including those enhanced by technology and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching and development of clinical competency in LiCBT. Under the programme directorship of Professor Paul Farrand you will work as part of team of LiCBT clinical educators and within a wider team of clinical educators and researchers within CEDAR to support the delivery of curricula associated with the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme for the clinical training of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, and other LiCBT domestic and international projects.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will:
- The successful applicant will already possess either an accredited PG Cert, or above, in Low Intensity CBT (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner) or an accredited PG Dip in High Intensity CBT, both associated with the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme.
- Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
- Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
- Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
- Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
