We are looking for an inspirational and talented colleague to join the team at the Oxford Brookes School of Education. If you have the ambition, ability, and passion to make a difference through your teaching, then join our team at one of the UK’s leading modern universities. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Childhood Education, who will teach a range of education modules, including those relating to psychology, science, and wellbeing, and who will contribute to our research profile.
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you will teach across undergraduate and postgraduate modules and contribute to the development and sustainability of the School of Education’s programme portfolio. This will include the BA Early Childhood Studies and the BA Education. You will be able and willing to apply your expertise across a range of education settings and module lead on a variety of topics, in particular with respect to psychology, science, and wellbeing. You will understand what it means to deliver an outstanding learning experience to students, with experience commensurate with the post and be confident operating in virtual and blended learning environments.
You should be or desire to be an active researcher. The School of Education is seeking to grow its education research profile and a suitable candidate should plan to engage in research during their time with us. Any Senior Lecturer appointed is expected to contribute future Research Excellence Framework submissions.

The post is initially for a fixed-term period of two years; the School of Education would welcome discussions about a longer relationship towards the end of the appointment. If you would like an informal discussion about this post, then please contact the interim Head of School Dr Jan Davison-Fischer by emailing: [email protected]
All interviews will be held online.
Candidates are usually appointed at the bottom of the salary range with a step pay increase until they reach the top of the salary scale.
The University has adopted equality, diversity and inclusion as core values. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates whatever their background, and especially from black or ethnic minority candidates who are under-represented in our workforce.
