About the Role
The Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research activities of the School in the areas of molecular-biosciences and genetics/genomics/systems biology, within the Biosciences and Food Technology Discipline.
The Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within relevant undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs. The Lecturer is also expected to develop and advance research activities within their field of expertise and to maintain and advance their wider scholarly and/or professional capabilities. The Lecturer will also actively develop and promote their teaching and research activities by establishing and maintaining memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the academic team. The Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
- Demonstrated ability to prepare deliver teaching into molecular-biosciences and genetics/genomics/systems biology courses at undergraduate and/or post-graduate levels, including via online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or course materials.
- Ability to undertake course coordination role.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
- Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in the broad area of molecular-biosciences and genetics/genomics/systems biology, which will contribute to and complement existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links. Expertise in genomics and/or microbiomes and/or bioinformatics would be of additional value.

Qualifications
Mandatory: PhD or equivalent research doctorate in molecular biology or in a relevant related research area
