Role Description
An exciting opportunity for an expert in water resources policy and economics to join our team of academics working in environmental and agricultural water resources management.
About the Role
We are seeking an individual with a strong research background and reputation in water resources management and policy with experience in resource economics, catchment management or water policy. The post will support the Centre’s existing research competencies in environmental and agricultural water management, including climate change and environmental impacts, ecosystem services, assessing drought impacts, flood risk management, and developing thought leadership in hydro-economic modelling, the water-energy-food nexus, and environmental economics. You will be expected to conduct high-impact, internationally excellent research in the related areas of water resources management, policy and economics; develop a vibrant and sustainable research group by leading and participating in research bid proposals to attract grant funding to support new junior research staff and students; enhance the reputation of Cranfield Water Science Institute through multidisciplinary collaboration, and deliver postgraduate-level teaching as part of our existing MSc programmes in water and environment.
About You
You will have a relevant PhD linked to the economics of water resources modelling, management or policy. This could be from a broad, or a more sector specific perspective, including environmental, agricultural or water resources management. You will have experience of winning and managing research grants and working in multidisciplinary collaborations with academics and industry. You will have a track record of publishing high impact journal articles in one or more aspects of water resources, water policy and governance, environmental economics, water resources engineering or water regulation. You will have a commitment to scientific rigour, a passion for solving applied problems, and enjoy engaging with experts and opinion-formers in academia, industry and government.
