Background
We are seeking to appoint 2 new outstanding Lecturers in Psychology who have academic, teaching and research experience in the areas of Social Psychology, Forensic Psychology and/or Criminology and who can make a significant contribution to our educational activities and research environment. We are a thriving, research intensive department that delivers high standards of teaching through innovative pedagogy. We have excellent laboratory infrastructure to support our research and teaching and are proud to be ranked within the top 3 Psychology Departments in London in the recent NSS.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will primarily be expected to contribute to taught modules of our undergraduate programmes in Psychology and Psychology with Criminology but may also be involved in teaching on our MSc programmes, such as the MSc Psychology Conversion. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to our research environment, perform the role of personal tutor to students, supervise dissertations, contribute to departmental administrative duties, and contribute to team, departmental and wider school events and meetings.
Person Specification
The candidate should be able to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in areas of Psychology that is tailored to diverse student needs and informed by research, innovative pedagogy and scholarship as demonstrated through engagement with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education. Candidates must have an honours degree in a related discipline and PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Candidates applying on the Education and Research track must also have a strong publication track record and demonstrated experience in securing research funding.
