Following a period of high growth in recent years, we are seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Psychology. We welcome applications individuals ideally with a background in Positive Psychology, Counselling Psychology and/or Mental Health. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our suite of BPS accredited BSc degrees (BSc Hons Psychology, BSc Hons Psychology with Counselling and BSc Business Psychology), and potentially to our MSc Therapeutic Counselling (BACP accredited).
We also welcome candidates whose research work will resonate with one or more new interdisciplinary Faculty Research Centres within the newly formed Institute for Lifecourse Development (see https://www.gre.ac.uk/institute-lifecourse-development ):
- Centre for Chronic Disease and Ageing
- Centre for Exercise Activity and Rehabilitation
- Centre for Inequalities
- Centre for Mental Health
- Centre for Professional Workforce Development
- Centre for Thinking and Learning
- Centre for Vulnerable Children and Families
We are looking to recruit individuals with a strong and developing track record of research who, at the same time, are able to demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation. Candidates would be expected to have a PhD and a developing profile of international-quality publications, together with appropriate experience of teaching in the Higher Education sector for this level.
You will be joining the School of Human Sciences, which is building a strong interdisciplinary and cross-professional approach to solving the grand challenges facing society. We are looking for colleagues who will have a commitment to maintaining and building the University’s excellence in teaching and learning, and who are doing research that has the potential for significant long-term academic and societal impact.
The School has an active and growing research base. Psychology performed well in REF2014. Our current performance and continued investment in the discipline will lead to even better performance in REF2021
and beyond. The University is currently rated TEF silver, reflecting our excellent teaching and learning, and we have realistic aspirations to achieve a TEF rating of ‘gold’ in any forthcoming subject TEF.
The School of Human Sciences re-located to the fantastic Dreadnought building on the World Heritage site at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich in 2018. This move, along with the creation of new laboratory facilities, was part of a long-term plan to build internationally leading research and teaching in the Faculty.
