We are now looking for a Lecturer in Policing to join our team at the Institute of Management and Health which is based at the Swansea Business Campus. This is a part-time role working 18 hours per week for a fixed-term contract until the end of August 2025. 

THE ROLE

As a Lecturer in Policing, you will be tasked with developing, designing and delivering policing programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

Devising teaching and assessment materials that cover a range of modules and subject areas, you will utilise a range of teaching styles and methods to engage students appropriately. 

Working alongside a team, you will develop academic projects that are relevant to professional policing and take the lead on extra-curricular events that further engage students. 

 ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Lecturer in Policing, you will need:

  • Experience in the delivery, assessment and student/trainee support at undergraduate and postgraduate level, or equivalent in the subject area 
  • A demonstrable ongoing commitment to professional enhancement, scholarship and/or research and project work 
  • IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources including a willingness to teach by video-link, VLE, email or website delivery 
  • The willingness to work flexibly to meet role requirements 
  • An honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience 
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline 


A PhD in a relevant discipline would be beneficial to your application, as would membership of a relevant professional body or teaching qualification. 

Experience in the design and development of module content would be equally desirable, as would experience of working within the policing profession.
