We seek to make the fixed term appointment of an outstanding scientist to the role of Lecturer in Organic Chemistry to work within, coordinate the research, and support the activities of the research group of Professor David Leigh (http://catenane.net/ ). You will also be expected to contribute enthusiastically to teaching and management while carrying out research in collaboration with Professor Leigh.

We are seeking an outstanding scientist with a strong background in supramolecular or synthetic organic chemistry, an excellent publication record in high quality peer-reviewed journals and have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for coordinating and carrying out internationally leading research in the field of supramolecular and organic chemistry within the Leigh group and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running and operation of the group. This is not an independent position but would suit someone who has a passion for teaching organic chemistry, and is looking for a senior postdoctoral post enroute to applying for independent research fellowships and lectureships. The post will suit candidates who wish to pursue an independent academic career in the future.

As this role involves research at a postgraduate level, applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UK Visas and Immigration’s (UKVI) Points Based System in order to take up the role, will be required to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate and will need to obtain this prior to making any official visa application UKVI)
