Henley Business School at the University of Reading, is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Operations Management who will undertake academic research and teaching modules primarily in the area of operations management, with associated responsibilities in administration.

You will:

  • conduct independent research in the broad area of operations management, such as, but not limited to, operations strategy, service operations, process management, supply chain management, digitalisation and Industry 4.0;
  • demonstrate potential through generating high quality outputs, acquiring external funding and setting research agenda that incorporates existing and new research areas in the Department as well as across the School and the University;
  • teach a range of modules in the broad area of operations management in undergraduate and pre- and post-experience master’s programmes, as agreed by the Head of Business Informatics, Systems and Accounting (BISA);
  • travel and teach at overseas locations as required as well as deliver teaching on a number of weekends throughout the year;
  • take on administrative duties and academic citizenship activities as well as academic leadership roles as appropriate.

 You will have:

  • a PhD/DBA in Operations Management or closely related subject (or near completion);
  • a track record of research of at least national standing, built on high quality research outputs;
  • a profile that may contribute to research leadership and recognition as a researcher, with a national profile and/or emerging international profile;
  • demonstrable ability in excellent Teaching & Learning practice, impacting on student experience/outcomes;
  • specialist knowledge of operations management and related fields to be able to provide teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • knowledge of business practice in relation to operations management;
  • teaching experience at an HE institution
