University College Birmingham are seeking to recruit an individual with Nursing experience and current registration status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in any field of nursing practice, combined with experience of assessing and an understanding of apprenticeships, to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting time to join the Department of Health, as we are working to increase our portfolio of Nurse training programmes. It is envisaged that Nurse training will be delivered through both a traditional degree route, and apprenticeships. This is therefore an opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners, with varying backgrounds and work/educational experiences, who seek to further their qualifications and careers in a flexible way.
Alongside relevant vocational experience, the successful candidate will hold a Level 5 professional qualification and evidence of assessor training involving the supervision, education and assessment of student nurses and/or nursing associates.
You will be self-motivated, with a drive to contribute to the development of Nursing/Healthcare programmes and apprenticeships. To support this, you will demonstrate sound organisation and administrative skills, proficiency in IT, and a commitment to working as part of a team.
The University is well-supported in respect of professional development for its staff, and it is expected that the post-holder will take a proactive and enthusiastic approach to continuing professional development, including retaining NMC registration and the achievement of a recognised teaching qualification if not already held.
Applications for full and part-time appointments will be considered, and a flexible approach to work is expected. A reasonable amount of travel in order to visit apprentices and work places off-site, should also be taken into consideration.
Benefits:
- 50 days’ paid leave per year
- Teacher’s Pension Scheme
- Private healthcare
- Excellent staff development opportunities
- Salary sacrifice car leasing, tech and cycle schemes
Standard information:
UCB is an equal opportunities employer.
All applicants for employment at the University will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Safeguarding and the PREVENT agenda in the context of further and higher education.
Unless stated otherwise, all roles at UCB will be based on-site at one of our Birmingham City Centre campus buildings. This is a not a remote role.
