School of Nursing and Advanced Practice

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities and beyond through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and a growing programme of international partnerships.

Due to the unprecedented success of the School, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Nursing on a full-time, permanent basis. You will deliver a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities, as well as contribute to the development of modules, programmes, and curriculum changes. You will also engage in one of the Faculty’s research themes and be part of our continued development.

You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, educated to Master’s Level (or currently studying) and, for the senior lecturer posts, have significant experience within a relevant field of nursing including experience of teaching pre-registration nursing students. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and are driven to improve the lives of patients, their carers, and their families. This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality and transformative educational experience for students.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction, and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC (to be undertaken upon appointment).

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
