Royal Birmingham Conservatoire seeks to appoint a full time Lecturer in Music Technology to contribute to the teaching, learning, research, administration and production support of this vibrant, ambitious and world-leading department.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for notable excellence in one or more specific areas of Music Technology.  This may include recording, production, live electronics composition and performance, surround technologies, software development or other related disciplines. They should therefore demonstrate an emerging research profile through PhD-level or post-doctoral work, alongside experience in the delivery of HE-level teaching and significant professional practice in music technology.

The Music Technology department's work pervades and benefits many areas of the Conservatoire’s work. Consequently, this post offers the opportunity to facilitate across a wide range of Conservatoire activity including auditioning, adjudicating, personal tutoring, the organisation of performance work, and both live and recorded production activity. The post holder will be required to promote the work of RBC nationally, as well as assuming some responsibility for the recruitment of students across BMus, BSc and Postgraduate programmes.

In conjunction with the Head of Music Technology and the wider team they will also be expected to contribute to strategic development, as well as developing exciting curriculum and resources, and research, under the umbrella of our IntegraLab research group. Whilst it is assumed that they will come to the post from a musical background, all Music Technology-related disciplines will be considered, and the teaching and research opportunities offered will take account of the interests and expertise of the post holder, in conjunction with the needs of the department and wider Conservatoire.

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is a world-class institution providing exceptional education and training for the musicians and actors of the future.
