Role Description
About the Role
There are 4 key aspects to this role:
About You
You will build on your PhD (or similar) to develop your research within our team. We are especially interested in researchers/academics with an interest in FEA and the practical and safe use of mechanical testing facilities. Your structural engineering or rotating machinery research, as carried out in this role, will have measurable outcomes (e.g. paper publication and contributing to research grants), with the intention of growing your reputation and growing your collaborative networks. Teaching activities will engage your innovation for course design and delivery (for both MSc and PhD students). An awareness of how different students learn will inform your style, and you will be keen to seek out appropriate feedback to help your continual improvement. At Cranfield, student projects are key learning activities, and new ideas are always welcomed. In supporting the Centre and Theme, you will be organised and grounded. This role will require a good level of communication, organisation and timely delivery, which you will continue to develop throughout your time with us.
Please note that support and collaboration are key at Cranfield; so your teaching and research commitments will be set proportionate to your previous experience, allowing newer colleagues to grow into their role.
