THE POST – Lecturer in Mathematics
Due to our expanding teaching portfolio in Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences is seeking applications from individuals to join the Division of Physical Sciences as a Lecturer in Mathematics. The role will primarily be based at the UWS Paisley campus, but there may be a requirement to teach on one of our other campuses, or to teach overseas on one of our international programmes. You will join a dedicated team who strive to continuously inspire our students and wider University community – and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.
The successful candidate should have the following:
- Undergraduate degree and PhD in Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications in a closely related subject.
- Fellowship of Advance HE or equivalent.
- Experience of learning, teaching and assessment within higher education.
- Appropriate evidence of external engagement which is consistent with priority areas in mathematics and in related areas within the School and University.
- Experience of delivering, developing, and coordinating modules in mathematics, or closely related areas, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and experience of hybrid-delivery teaching and of use of authentic/real-world assessment approaches.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.
