Lecturer in Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering - Grade 8

The School of Engineering, Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering - School of Engineering - University of Liverpool, seeks to appoint a research active, internationally outward looking member of the Teaching and Research (T&R) staff.

Your research area should enhance the portfolio of high impact research in the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing and contribute to the delivery of our Product Design undergraduate programmes and portfolio of postgraduate taught programmes.

We are seeking individuals that have a proven track record associated with any of our core disciplines but have a vision to establish an externally funded cross-cutting research activity that will generate outputs and impact.  This post is a unique opportunity to develop your independent research activity and is part of a substantial new investment in staff and facilities being directed to the Materials, Design and Manufacturing disciplines within the School of Engineering.

This appointment is a potential opportunity for either `early career¿ or more experienced candidates (appointment within the Grade 8 scale based on experience and profile). You will already have an established track record of academic endeavour. This will include papers in internationally leading journals in your field, the potential for, or demonstration of, the ability to attract significant funding from a range of sources and generation of knowledge exchange activities.

You should have a PhD (or be close to completion) in a relevant research discipline that aligns with Materials, Design, manufacturing portfolio of research. You should have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment and the potential to develop an independent research activity which complements the internationally leading research associated with the research activities of both the School of Engineering and the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing and contribute to achieving the ambitions of the University of Liverpool Strategic Framework 2031 Welcome - Strategic Framework 2031 - University of Liverpool
