The role

The Open University Business School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Marketing on a fixed term basis to our vibrant and growing Department for Strategy and Marketing. 

The successful candidate will participate in and lead a range of teaching activities and have a research track record commensurate with their experience. They will also have the motivation to develop or maintain an excellent research contribution that contributes to the School of Business.

Applications would be welcome from candidates with teaching and research experience and interests in marketing, sustainability, and digital marketing.

  • Contribute to the development of materials for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional learning and development (CPLD) modules in marketing, as well as to interdisciplinary modules on a range of qualifications as required.
  • Conduct independent research appropriate for their career stage which will enhance the research profile of the Business School.
  • Contribute to monitoring of the quality of tuition, assessment and online student support.
  • Tutor at face-to-face residential schools or their online equivalents, or other forms of direct student contact, for at least ten days per year.
  • Play a full part in the academic life of the Business School

Skills and experience

You will have demonstrated your expertise in research by completing a PhD in a relevant field.  as well as an established or developing record of research that will contribute to enhancing the profile of the Business School.

You will have an established or developing record of teaching excellence, and the capability and readiness to prepare teaching materials for distance learning, and to support modules in presentation including the preparation of assessment materials, and participation in Quality Assurance and examination processes.
