The Department of Earth, Ocean and Ecological Sciences wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Marine Biology. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual whose research strongly develops current activity or introduces new areas of research in the Ecology and Marine Biology research group and Ocean Sciences research group. A Lecturer whose research and teaching interests in Marine Biology will build on and extend our national and international reputation, as well as complementing wider research across the School of Environmental Sciences and the University more broadly.

Applicants should demonstrate an ability to conduct relevant and internationally leading, collaborative research. Have a vision to develop strong leadership in their field of expertise through research outputs, external grant income and public engagement activities, and be able to provide some evidence to support this. You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline with an ambition to develop teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including field-based teaching and taking their research into the classroom to foster an inquiry-based approach to learning.
