Applicants must be qualified to practice either as a Barrister or Solicitor, with either a minimum of 2-years’ experience in practice following the completion of pupillage or their training contract; or be an experienced academic with a proven experience in running law clinics and have retained their practicing certificate.

Applicant need to show a willingness and ability to teach a wide range of academic law including on traditional core law modules.

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute towards the development of the law clinic and deliver innovative and high quality clinical legal education to our students
  • Lead modules and teach on our UG and PG programmes as required.
  • Design and deliver teaching of legal skills, professionalism, ethics, drafting and advocacy.
  • Foster relations with local and regional law firms and third sector advice providers to expand and develop the Law Clinic, student placements and extra-curricular activities for our students
  • Contribute towards the development and delivery of Continuing Professional Education to business, local government and third sector professionals.
  • Contribute to wider development of learning, teaching, and research in the school, including development of their own personal research and knowledge transfer activities.

This role is aligned with the University Strategy that promotes the development of international academic partnerships, developing and expanding commercial links to support our mission, vision and values. Therefore, the ability to persuade, influence, motivate and establish credibility with a wide range of stakeholders is essential.
