Applications are invited for two permanent posts in Southampton Law School at the level of Lecturer (level 5).
As a Law School, we are committed to high quality legal education and scholarship. To that end, we intend to strengthen our research and teaching across a number of areas of the curriculum. For the current positions, we would welcome applications from candidates with an interest in any of the following areas: International Criminal Law, Global Climate Change Litigation Law, Global Animal Law or Law and Artificial Intelligence
Successful candidates will have a PhD in Law or equivalent professional qualifications and experience.
Successful candidates will be expected to make an all-round contribution to education and research delivery in the School. You will be expected to have a research profile including published work commensurate with your career stage. You will be committed to high quality research and to building a vibrant student experience and community. Visible and collegiate, you will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the School’s activities including student recruitment and outreach.
Research in the Law School currently clusters around a number of research centres including those for Private and Commercial Law (PCL); Maritime Law (IML); Law, Policy and Society (CLPS); Health Ethics and Law (HEAL); Law, Internet and Culture (iClic) and the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law. Colleagues are also involved in individual and collaborative scholarship in numerous other fields, often inter-disciplinary.
