The School of Geosciences seeks to appoint a full time (negotiable), fixed-term Lecturer (Scholarship and Research) in Geology.

The post is tenable from September 1st 2022 to August 31st 2024 (2 years). The principal duties of the role will be to undertake research in a relevant area of geology to contribute to our research interests in core geoscience subjects and expansion into energy transition/sustainability areas, and to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to academic administrative duties. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Geology or a cognate discipline and be able to contribute to teaching at all levels including input into a new MSc in Sustainable Energy Geoscience. An interest and engagement in the Energy Transition and Sustainable Development in both teaching and research is desirable. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including field teaching, and have the ability to respond enthusiastically and positively to students. Candidates should have existing research interests and evidence of a growing research portfolio and impact that compliments existing research strengths. Candidates should be able to work as part of a team and be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues in other disciplines in the School and University.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £42,149 – £50,296 per annum  with placement according to qualifications and experience.
