Lecturer in Film Music Composition - Grade 7

You will be required to teach composition for film and television as well as conventional acoustic composition at undergraduate level. You will lead modules in composing to picture on the MA Music & Audiovisual Media. You will supervise students working on their independent composition projects within courses focused on Music, Music Technology, and Game Design. You will be able to support students¿ creative projects in diverse musical styles, including those incorporating idioms common to mainstream and commercial parts of the music industry. Your teaching will include Composition for Film and TV (Year 2) and MA modules such as Composing to Picture. You will undertake a mixture of classroom teaching, studio-based teaching, and individual project supervision across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including with research students where appropriate.

This is a Teaching & Scholarship (T&S) post. However, consideration will be given to appointing on the Teaching & Research (T&R) career path for candidates who can demonstrate the relevant criteria.

You will have a Master¿s degree in Music or a related subject (or relevant qualifications or professional experience). You will also have possession of, or willingness to acquire within three years of appointment, a formal teaching qualification relevant to HE.

Ideally, you will be able to take up the post by 1 September 2024.
