Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 11 Mar 2023

Description

The Film and New Media Program at NYU Abu Dhabi is currently inviting applications for a full-time, multi-year lecturer position in Film and New Media.

We are looking for a film/ new media practitioner who has considerable experience in cinematography, sound, and post-production. We are seeking applicants who have knowledge of varied equipment and software to enable and guide students who might be beginners or advanced in their training in film and new media. Our program lays an emphasis on historicizing and contextualizing practice alongside teaching technique and craft. Diverse film and new media practices are encouraged amongst our students thus we are looking for applicants who have worked in different contexts and explored the medium outside standard conventions as well.

The position requires the applicant to teach introductory level courses in sound, cinematography, post-production, and a required course that teaches safety and production techniques while working on the sound stage. Selected candidates will have an opportunity to design new courses within the Film and New Media Program.

The Film and New Media Program at NYUAD hopes to emerge as a unique location to foster exchange between film and digital media cultures of the broader Indian Ocean region. Our students take both practice and studies courses and finish their degree with a Capstone project that reflects the cultural and historical context of their interests and studies. The Film and New Media program brings together the energy and charge of a multicultural education setting with students and faculty from across the globe in our classrooms and in our mentoring of students.
