City’s Learning Enhancement and Development Service (LEaD) provides leadership and support to City’s five Schools in all aspects of education (content, delivery and support) and throughout the full student journey.  LEaD is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic to a full-time, education-focused lectureship to provide support for research students who teach.


Responsibilities

The appointed Lecturer will work with the Schools to support peer reviews of education for research students who teach and will hold teaching forums. He or she will have the opportunity to participate in the MA Academic Practice programme team, teaching and leading on modules where appropriate; and will be involved in assessment activity and the supervision of MA dissertation projects.  There may also be opportunities to engage in cross-institution projects and the development of quality resources to support teaching.


Person Specification

The appointed candidate will have a higher degree in a relevant field, a teaching qualification and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or be working towards it).  Experience of teaching at Masters level is essential as are excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work effectively in teams; problem solving skills; and significant knowledge and experience of developing and enhancing learning, teaching and assessment.
