Over the last five years ULMS has engaged in extensive recruitment of academic and professional services staff, expanding into a state-of-the-art extension adjacent to the Georgian quarter of Liverpool, including a trading room and a marketing suite. The School now has over 220 academic staff supported by 85 professional services colleagues. In its wider setting, the School benefits from Liverpool's standing as a member of the UK's leading Russell Group research-intensive universities and from its location in a city which combines strong cultural activity, excellent transport links, and regional beauty with a world heritage skyline and is highly ranked on quality of life in the UK, while remaining one of Britain's most affordable cities.

The Economics Group comprises around 45 faculty members and delivers specialist undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of Economics and Business Economics. Members of the group regularly publish in the top-5 general interest economics journals and top field journals. The key research areas of expertise include Economic Theory, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Applied Microeconomics.

Moreover, the group makes important contributions to the solution of significant policy issues, working with central banks, government organizations, and think tanks. The group leads the School¿s LAMBA research cluster (¿Liverpool Advanced Methods for Big Data Analytics¿). We are seeking a Lecturer in Economics to help continue build our growing strength and reputation, both in terms of research and teaching. We are open to All Fields but are particularly interested in research that advances Machine Learning methods in economics/econometrics or is in the area of Structural Industrial Organization.

Applications for the Lecturer position will also be considered for an ULMS 20 Year Anniversary Fellowship (also Grade 8). The Fellowships consist of an initial two-year appointment as a research fellow, with the opportunity to transfer to a Lectureship subject to candidates demonstrating they are able fulfil the role expectations at the end of the two years.

You will have a PhD (or near completion) in Economics, or a related discipline from an accredited, research-intensive institution.
