Drama at Exeter is a vibrant, creative and supportive community of over 20 staff, active in research and professional practice, and nearly 400 students. We are growing into a new interdisciplinary department of Communications, Drama, Film and Television this year.

The role

The exciting new post of Lecturer in Drama will contribute to extending the international research profile of East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern or African Theatre/ Performance / Dance at Exeter, attracting and supervising postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate research students, attracting research funding and developing collaborative professional partnerships, developing new undergraduate and postgraduate modules and programmes in your area of expertise as well as delivering teaching on existing programmes in the studio and seminar room.

About you

For this Lecturer post you will have:

  • A PhD in East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern or African Theatre / Performance / Dance, and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research
  • A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
  • An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Strong connections, networks and/or funded projects with business, community or international partners
  • Involvement in projects which develop impact.
