This opportunity would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 dietitian or above working in the NHS (or equivalent) that has expertise in teaching, training, and supervision. This post is suited to working alongside a 0.5FTE Clinical role.

As a Lecturer, you will be involved in supporting the delivery of our dietetics courses and inter-professional teaching. You’ll be able to inspire our students and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience and academic progression, whilst preparing them for contemporary practice.

Alongside this, is the opportunity to develop your career, further your own clinical academic profile and enhance your teaching expertise, through studying a PG Cert in Teaching in Higher Education.

You must be an HCPC-registered dietitian and have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice.

Ideally, you will be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation and emergent clinical pathways.

The Team is currently developing workstreams in respect of a new curriculum for our MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) course, innovating apprenticeship delivery and creating simulation for professional skills teaching.

Additionally, there are opportunities to contribute to our AHP Health and Social Care Research Centre with a focus on long term conditions. It is envisaged that you would be part of these innovations, shaping dietetic education in higher education, whilst retaining strong links with practice partners.

You will also contribute to our undergraduate Dietetic Degree apprenticeship course (pre-registration) through teaching, assessing and academic citizenship/research activity.

You will be able to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of backgrounds.

The Department of Allied Health Professions (AHP) is one of the UK’s leading teaching centres of health education and one of the first universities to offer Allied Health Professions Degree Apprenticeship Courses.

We are growing our dietetics team due to continued expansion of our teaching portfolio. Our teaching team has a range of expertise in all areas of dietetics and is responsible for a distinctive and high-quality education portfolio which includes the pre-registration MSc Dietetics and BSc (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship and supports Advanced Clinical Practice for dietitians in person and via the e-portfolio route.

In addition, the team contributes to cross-department and cross-College teaching, including the inter-professional education provision and CPD provision.

If you have any questions and/or would like to meet the team, you would be most welcome to our open online information session to be held Thursday 28 March 2024, 16:30-17:30.

Please email Katie Peck at [email protected] for more information and to book.
