1 x full time, 9 months maternity cover

The School of Law and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint Lecturers in Criminology, from September 2024. The successful candidates will have experience of teaching, or the demonstrable potential to teach, core criminology subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. 

The School of Law and Social Sciences is committed to the delivery of an excellent student experience and the successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to, and excellence in, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.  Therefore experience of teaching on undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules is essential. Experience of programme development, commensurate with experience, at either postgraduate or undergraduate level is desirable. This may include innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment within modules and/or new module development.

The successful candidates should have a first degree in Criminology or a closely related discipline such as Law, Sociology, Social Policy. They should have a publication track-record commensurate with career stage, with excellent plans for research outputs over the next three years. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research expertise is in the areas of cultural criminology or digital criminology, but are open to candidates from all criminological research areas.
