Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a Lecturer in Counselling & Psychotherapy.

We have a vacancy for an experienced psychodynamic or psychoanalytic practitioner to develop CPD courses for professionals in helping roles. You will be an experienced psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist (or psychoanalytic psychotherapist) with substantial post-qualification experience, some of which will be in a public setting.

You will have thorough knowledge, and experience, of different types of teaching methods and strategies appropriate to counselling and psychotherapy and, in particular, both experiential and critical teaching methods.

You will have experience of curriculum planning and course development as well as experience of teaching counselling and psychotherapy remotely and, of delivering clinical work remotely.

To succeed as Lecturer in Counselling & Psychotherapy you’ll need an in-depth knowledge of counselling and how it can be applied in related fields such as healthcare and education. Working closely with Director of Counselling you will develop and deliver a new cluster of CPD courses and participate in the management of recruitment, admissions and assessments at the Birkbeck Centre for Counselling.

Remuneration

£33,892 rising to £38,739 pro-rata (0.8 FTE) per annum (£42,365 rising to £48,424 per annum FTE). Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale.

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
