As part of the continuing expansion of the Department of Computer Science we are aiming to recruit a part-time (0.5 FTE) permanent Lecturer in Computer Science to assist with teaching across the Computer Science curriculum more specifically to support the delivery of our Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) Degree Apprenticeship BSc programme. 

The successful applicant will join a dynamic and growing department which offers a range of BSc/MSc/MSci/PhD programmes in the various areas of Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security and Urban Analytics.

About you

The successful applicant will hold a PhD (or near completion) in Computer Science or in a related discipline and will have a keen interest in high-quality teaching.  She/he will be able to demonstrate the aptitude to develop a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning and enthusiasm for delivering undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. The DTS programme at the University of Exeter, which the candidate will initially be allocated to support, is offered in a blended mode of delivery and focuses on work-based learning. Hence, a strong industrial experience is highly desirable. Furthermore, experience in online/blended education would be a plus. Candidates in all areas of Computer Science will be considered but we are especially interested in candidates with a strong Software Engineering background

The appointment is available for a permanent basis at grade F (Lecturer, equivalent to Assistant Professor) within the Education and Scholarship job family.
