We are seeking to recruit four enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Lecturer in Computer Science.

The Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences provides a diverse range of modern, professionally accredited programmes. Our course offerings span from Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Mathematics to emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Department is a crucial component of the School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematical Sciences, housed within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

You will collaborate with staff and students in the pursuit of both individual and collective research endeavours within the wider School and Faculty, contributing to established research groups and furthering your respective research domains. It would be highly desirable for you to have a proven track record of disseminating research outputs and achievements in high-quality scientific or technical journals, along with the potential to attract research funding and generate external income.

You must hold a PhD in Computer Science or closely related subject, membership of a professional body is highly desirable.

You will demonstrate key attributes including drive, compassion, and perseverance. You should be enthusiastic, capable of motivating their team, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, display a flexible approach to work, and be able to prioritise a demanding workload. You should also be able to identify areas for continuous development and improvement within your subject area. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the following areas:

  • Software Engineering and Databases
  • Mobile Application Development
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • Cloud Computing
  • Networking
  • Cybersecurity
