Job Description:

Lecturer in Classical Culture and Mythologies

Responsibilities:  

  • Lecture undergraduate semester modules in Classical Culture and Mythologies.
  • Lecture postgraduate modules in Classical Culture and Mythologies.
  • Develop study guides.
  • Prepare and mark assessments.
  • Manage tutors.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
  • Promote courses in Classical Culture and Mythologies at the university.
  • Supervise postgraduate research dissertations.
  • Conduct research and publish in accredited journals.

Minimum requirements
Minimum Requirements:

  •  A PhD/ Master’s degree with significant progress towards a doctoral degree in Classics or a related discipline.


Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

  • Competency in curriculum development.
  • Competency in assessment development.


 Recommendations:

  • Competency in Blackboard or a related online teaching platform.
  • Specialisation in mythology or ancient culture.
  • Two years’ lecturing experience in Classics or a related discipline.
  • One year’s postgraduate supervision experience.
  • Doctoral degree in Classics or a related discipline.
