LECTURER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING (4 POSTS)

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Liverpool is undertaking an exciting period of growth of its academic staff base, and we are looking for staff to join us in delivering multidisciplinary world-class civil engineering research in the key areas of net zero, climate crisis, resilience, and future cities, whilst also providing innovative, research-led teaching input to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Specifically, we are looking to enhance our fluid mechanics and civil engineering infrastructure research groups with four new appointments at Lecturer level.  Applications are encouraged from candidates with proven capabilities in the following areas: 

  • Experimental Environmental Fluid Mechanics
  • Geotechnical Engineering  
  • Structural Engineering Materials  
  • Transportation Engineering

You will have a passion for innovation in developing engineering solutions that meet pressing environmental challenges. They will be excellent researchers with ambitious future research plans and established track records of academic endeavour. This will include papers in internationally leading journals in their fields and the potential, or demonstration of the ability, to attract significant funding from a range of sources.  Candidates who can demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other disciplines in the Department are welcome.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
