Working in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace & Automotive Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction (ranked in the Guardian University Guide 2020 in the country's top three for our courses in Mechanical Engineering).

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in aerospace engineering. The teaching content will cover topics of aerospace systems design/integration (Mechanical and/or Avionic Systems). Industrial experience of aerospace design process and/or model based design would be advantageous.

You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation and support the school’s research culture. You will be expected to undertake design and delivery of teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive that achieves excellent student learning outcomes. You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships, as well as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.

The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject. Alternatively, candidates with relevant industrial experience to an equivalent level are also encouraged to apply

Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous

The position is primarily open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice, development and management.  However, successful candidates will also have the opportunity to apply to become an Associate Member of one of our Research Centres.
