About the role

For those seeking to become involved in shaping the education of the next generation of Clinical Psychologists, the College wishes to recruit a part-time (0.2 FTE) Research Tutor/Lecturer based in the Psychology department to support the Research Lead with the delivery of the DClinPsy programme. This post is a maternity/paternity leave cover post.

The DClinPsy Research Tutor/Lecturer post will include supporting and designing the delivery of research teaching and training, across qualitative or quantitative methods, depending on your speciality.  The post involves providing supervision and support of DClinPsy trainees in producing both Small Scale Quality Improvement Studies, and completing their PGR Doctoral research. The successful candidate would also be required to participate in the delivery of the range of research support sessions provided on the DClinPsy.   

About you

The successful applicant will possess a post graduate research doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) or a PhD in a relevant clinical research area.

The applicant will also be able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development as recommended by the BPS. In addition the successful candidate will have experience of teaching in an HE environment.

Exeter has been training clinical psychologists for over 40 years, and the course has strong links with local NHS Trusts and third sector services. The DClinPsy is part of a vibrant and dynamic DClinPGR portfolio of Professional Psychology doctorates and a nationally leading masters level degree apprenticeship (CAPs). The DClinPsy is based on Streatham Campus, the University’s largest site in Exeter, built around a country estate overlooking the city and is readily acknowledged as one of the most beautiful in the country. All teaching buildings, together with the sports park, the library, the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars are within walking distance of each other.
