We have an excellent opportunity for two engaging individuals to join the Department of Computer Science and Creative Technology (CSCT) at UWE Bristol.  This involves contributing to teaching across our suite of computing programmes, and also to research activities in the department.  CSCT is a large and rapidly expanding department, with over 110 academic staff and nearly 2,000 students studying on 23 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  We conduct world-leading research in the Computer Science Research Centre, the Creative Technologies Lab and the Unconventional Computing Group.

About you:

For a post of Lecturer in Computer Science, candidates for this post should possess, a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and possess in-depth knowledge of the academic theory and/or practice of computer science and software development, incorporating experience with one or more specializations of computer science such as: artificial intelligence; physical computing; smart cities; SMART technologies; cloud computing; networks; software engineering or enterprise systems development.   We will expect the successful candidates to support teaching on various programmes, to conduct independent research and raise external research funding.

These posts are based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested in new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities  to enhance our offer even further.

Frenchay campus has excellent transport links ; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations , our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

These are permanent posts, working full-time on a 100% contract and are also available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
