The Learning and Teaching Administrator is responsible primarily for supporting with a wide range of staff and student outreach activities and communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating and formatting websites related to Durham Law School and the wider University, updating and taking a lead on social media accounts.  You will work independently, taking a day to day decisions and using his/her experience and initiative to decide on appropriate courses of action and resolve problems. You will work flexibly to ensure the team functions effectively in meeting priorities, working in accordance with University and Departmental policies and procedures, demonstrating a commitment to customer service excellence.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, here are the skills/experience we're looking for:

Essential Criteria

Qualifications/Experience

  • Five GCSE’s at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent experience or qualifications). 
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment delivering front line administrative services or having relevant qualifications for the role.
  • Experience of managing time to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising on quality.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

  • Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Good digital skills including experience in using digital devices and apps including the internet, email, digital communication tools, Microsoft 365 applications, digital booking systems.
  • Committed to continuing professional development
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve straightforward issues yourself and as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues.

Desirable Criteria

  • Work outside normal office hours during peak periods.
  • Experience of working in Higher Education.
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment.

SECONDMENT

This post is full time, fixed term from 8 April 2024 to 31 December 2025 and may be offered on an internal secondment basis subject to the agreement of the current line manager.
